I guess the most recent event in my life that is *special*-ish (to some extent) is getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed @_@
I got them removed a little bit over a week ago, and now I'm doing fine and I can eat normally again ^^
But I'll recount my experience starting from the beginning:
When I got into the dentist's room and sat on the chair, they taped two wire things to my body and put on mask on me (laughing gas). Then, the dentist proceeded to hit my arm (it actually really hurt), and injected the anaesthetic into my vein. It burned, and the last thing I remember before becoming unconscious was him asking me, "it burns doesn't it?" in which I replied with a nod, and then he said "don't worry, it'll pass soon." Next thing I know, the assistant tells me to sit up, and the operation was over already. I couldn't really walk properly (was dizzy), so I had to hold onto my mom for support. At this point, the anaesthetic hadn't worn off yet so my jaw was numb, and I was biting on gauze.
I remember going to the pharmacy afterwards to pick up my medication, and all I did was sit in a chair half asleep... I remember people passing by looking at me XD
During the car ride back home, I literally slept through the ENTIRE ride. When I got home, I didn't do anything else and proceeded to nap for like.. an hour or so. BAD IDEA.
If any of you guys are getting your wisdom teeth out any time in the future and they prescribe painkillers, I recommend that you TAKE THEM before the anaesthetic wears off, because I didn't take my pain killers until way later, and OH THE PAIN...
(Disclaimer: this is MY advice and opinion based off of MY experience; everyone's experience is different, so this may not apply to you)
When I awoke from my nap, I still felt alright, so I went to my computer (as usual) and did what I usually do on the computer. I read through the instructions and blah, but I didn't feel any pain (because of the anaesthetic) so I didn't see the need to take the painkillers... until the anaesthetic wore off, and I literally felt like I wanted to RIP OUT MY JAW from the amount of pain... =_=
So I FINALLY took the painkillers, and about 30 minutes later, they kicked in and OHHH THE RELIEFFFFF. IT WAS LIKE ANGELS DESCENDED FROM THE HEAVENS AND LIGHTLY TAPPED ON MY MOUTH AND TOLD ME THAT IT WAS ALL GOING TO BE OK AND-- *ahem*
So I was basically living off of those painkillers for the next few days... I needed at least 1 every 4 hours.
Oh, and the dentist also prescribed antibiotics for me to take 3 times a day for a week (to prevent infection).
Regarding the bleeding, when I first took out the gauze that has been in my mouth for idk how long... 2 hours??? idk... there was so much blood, I kinda freaked out ._. I replaced the gauze every so often and every time I took it out, it was soaked with blood @_@ Ahhh, so freaky D: The bleeding stopped after 3-4 days though.
For the entire week, all I ate was eggs, soft noodles, and... well that's pretty much it. And water? I ate SOOO many eggs that week that I think my cholesterol levels are dying... @_@ OH HOW I MISSED MY FRUIT AND VEGETABLES!! (btw, if you don't know me that well, I eat fruit literally EVERYDAY, sometimes even 3 types of fruit in a day).
Also, because of my handicapped mouth, I didn't eat very big portions, so I actually lost 5 pounds in a week ._. I haven't been this weight for over a year now XD (my weight usually stays the same and only fluctuates like 1-3 pounds).
1 week later, I went back to the dentist for a check-up, and the lady was teaching me how to use the syringe (for cleaning the holes in my mouth). She proceeded to demonstrate on my bottom left side, but apparently I had no hole there, so she was surprised and was like "Wow! You should be in the Guinness Book of World Records for how fast you heal!" (idk if that's actually true or if she was just saying that to make me feel better). But when she did it on my bottom right side, some blood came out and I was kinda freaked out ._. It would be ironic if I took good care of myself, and then went to the dentist and they messed it up... XD
However, now that my mouth is practically fully healed, I CAN EAT MY PRECIOUS FAVOURITE FOODS AGAIN *A* !! Oh, how I missed... EVERYTHING XD
My relationship with food shall never waver *^* <3
Also, might I add (UTAU related): I recorded Reizo tri-pitch CV bank (which is now released and sounds like he has something in his mouth) with my handicapped mouth and a full VCV low pitch that was supposed to be for Rena. That low VCV pitch doesn't really sound like Rena though, and I may or may not scrap it, depending on how it works with the other two pitches that I'm planning to record for her >< I sound like her again now, but the low VCV pitch that I recorded sounds like a different person almost... so I'll see after I record the other two pitches!
Thanks for reading my lengthy post if you got this far! It's my first (real) blog post here ^^
